Our monthly rate includes Board Fees which comprises accommodation, nursing, meals and laundry.
It does not include miscellaneous medicines, scripts, hairdresser appointments, foot clinic appointments and nappies.
Medicines & Scripts: these will vary in price
Hairdresser: Set R110, Blow Wave R130, Cut & Blow Wave R260, Perm R500
Foot Clinic: R160
Nappies: Medium – R171.90 per pack of 14, Large – R197.90 per pack of 14
All extras are added to the monthly invoice, which is payable by EFT – we do not have credit card facilities.
We do not require a deposit but do have an administrative fee of R5000. incl. Vat which is non-refundable and payable upfront to secure the room.
Surety is not a necessity.
You have a few weeks to move your loved one in, but the administrative fee must be paid for before moving in and the room should be paid for within the month of moving in.
All residents have their own packages. Some have DSTV, others Netflix, and others Open View.
MEDICAL CARE
Frail care rates differ on the amount of dedicated care one may need.
When your loved one becomes very frail, does not recognise their surroundings, and needs full-time care, they will be moved into the frail ward.
Yes, the doctors will send out their own invoices.
The Sister in charge places the medication into the residents’ containers, and our trained nurses hand them to the residents to take.
HG Physio visits the home once a week to do exercise and any required physio for individuals. HG Physio invoices individual clients privately.
Yes, we need to know each resident’s medical history to give them the best possible care.
Miscellaneous
We can send menu plans. Our menu plans do change with the seasons, however. We meet with a representative from Pheka School of Cooking regularly to discuss our menu.

Laundry is included in the board fees, and, yes, you do need to mark everything.
We have a generator that runs our entire manor and are, therefore, unaffected by load shedding.
Accommodation
We assess each resident’s situation individually. However, all our residents upstairs have no problem and quickly adjust to the stairlift.
There is no need for this as we always repaint each room once it is vacated.
We do supply a bed, linen and curtains. However, we do encourage you to bring your own furniture for your loved one to make it feel more like home.
It is always very hard for families and their parents to decide to move to a care facility, but, from my 12 years of experience, my residents have always settled in well, and as soon as they find their feet, they call it HOME.
